Kingsmen Prepare for Success
Tips to Help Your Child Succeed in Middle School
Attendance- The best learning situation is one where they are present in class every day, on time

School Supplies- Let's make sure they are ready to learn by making sure they have what they need to be successful- charged iPad, notebook, pencil, etc.

Organizational Skills- Label folders, notebooks for each class, prioritize homwork, keep papers/assignments in correct folders, clean backpacks every week, be ready for the following day by making sure their iPad is charged and their homework completed, ready to submit

Communication- Review Jupiter messages, school calendar, important dates (progress reports, holidays, finals week), explore the school's website for announcements, schedules, events

Manage Homework- Determine the best time to complete homework, contact the teacher if there are any questions about homework, create a habit of doing homework at the same time and place every day in a quiet, well-lit area with enough space to write and/or type

Acknowledge the Positives, Use the Not-So-Positives as Learning Moments- reward achievements, reasonable consequences for poor perfomance and/or behavior, recognize extra effort even if it doesn't always end in achievement
