Current News

Student Safety
We recognize the heightened concerns within our community regarding the immigration enforcement activity. Our priority is to continue providing a safe and nurturing environment for all of our students, regardless of immigration status and personal circumstances. Our Sweetwater Union High School District webpage has resources for those in need. Students can learn more about how to handle their concerns as well here.

Black History Month
February is declared Black History Month. In 1926 historian Carter G. Woodson started the celebration as a “Negro History Week” because he felt the impact of Black people in this country was being overlooked. It extended to a month in 1976 when President Gerald Ford recognized Black History Month during the celebration of the United States Bicentennial. We take the time to honor the contributions and achievements made by the Black community. We encourage you to take the time to learn the impact African Americans have made in our community, our state, and our country during this month as well as throughout the year.

8th Grade Promotion
As a reminder, students must meet the Sweetwater Union High School District 8th Grade Promotion requirements to be eligible to participate in the ceremony at the end of the year. Students must pass their classes in 7th and 8th grade. Please reach out to your counselor should you have concerns regarding a failed course.

Counselor Corner
School Counselors are here to support the growth and development of students, guided by three domains defined by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA):
